Taking a train
to Penang is a pleasant and quite relaxing way to travel to Georgetown on
Penang Island in Malaysia with KTM Malaysia domestic railway connections. For
this conference we also recommend to hire Malaysia’s New High-Speed Electric
Train Service (ETS) to Butterworth Station from Kuala Lumpur Central Station. Malaysia’s
high speed trains can travel at speeds of up to 160 kilometers an hour and have
made travel in Peninsular Malaysia by train, faster and more convenient. Further
information regarding ETS booking online, you may refer to https://intranet.ktmb.com.my/e-ticket/login.aspx.
From Butterworth Railway Station, you may take public bus (Rapid Penang) http://www.rapidpg.com.my/ to Penang
Island (Conference Venue) or you will probably take the connecting Penang Ferry
which runs between Butterworth on mainland Malaysia to Georgetown, Penang Island.

If you are the
adventurous type of traveler, hire a car and drive yourself to Penang Island.
From Kuala Lumpur, it generally takes about 5 hours to get to Penang by North-South
Expressway (NSE). It is very easy since there are plenty of signboards to guide
you out of the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur to Penang Island.
